Perky was born into my arms! One of the very few cria births I have witnessed. I remember thinking he looked like he had lights inside him - he was so shiny. Of course, it didn't take him long to get dirty and dull the shine. But the shine comes through in his yarn. Perky was nearly gelded, but at the last moment another alpaca breeder offered a trade. They had a male they had been using for breeding for several years and needed some new genetics. Perky went to a farm in Michigan and Vagabond came here. |
