Name: BuckwheatARI#: 30420441 Birthdate: September 13, 2005 Parents: Ruby and Valafras Namesake: Buckwheat is another of our alpacas who was instantly named at birth with a name we just couldn't improve upon. Maybe it was Buckwheat's arrival in the world that caused me to think of him as a prankster. As Ruby was getting closer to her due date, I kept a close watch since this would be her first cria. Most crias are born before noon and since Ruby showed no sign of labor, I felt comfortable leaving in the afternoon. But there he was when I got home that evening - up and walking around. And he hasn't slowed down since. He is very curious, wants to check over every visitor for treats, and has been known to sneak through the fence to explore the yard!
